Is RWP a Fiduciary?

We act in a fiduciary capacity for our wealth and investment planning, meaning we are legally and ethically obligated to act in your best interest. That said, we believe the word "fiduciary" has been weaponized, and turned into a cute marketing slogan. The reality is, in this industry, there are fiduciaries who do not practice holistic, panoramic planning- and that is difficult to square. In the same vein, you will be hard pressed to find a truly comprehensive advisor who does not also act as a fiduciary when working on wealth plans. These distinctions matter (please note that insurance products are held to a best interest standard).

How Are You Paid?

We don't believe in financial jargon or hidden fees. We're a fee-based firm, which means we get paid for the work we do for you. We're either compensated with a percentage of the assets we manage on your behalf. The only exception is when we help you with insurance—in those cases, we may receive a commission, which will never be deducted from your premium first. We'll always lay out all the details, so you'll know exactly how we're compensated and can be confident that our advice is always in your best interest.

Who Holds Your Money?

Your financial assets are held by independent third-party custodians, not by our firm directly. We have established relationships with two of the largest and most reputable custodians in the industry: Charles Schwab and Fidelity.This helps ensure that your assets are held securely and separately from our business operations, providing an important layer of transparency and protection.

Are You Independent?

Absolutely. And we think it's one of the most important things about us. Being an independent firm means we don't have a corporate parent or a big company telling us what to recommend. Our only mission is to serve you, and our advice is driven solely by what we believe is in your best interest. There's no one else to please and no products to push—just honest, straightforward recommendations tailored to your goals.

What is Your Approach To Retirement Planning?

Our ethos is we want to be all things to a few clients, rather than a few things to thousands. We also have come to understand that a large portion of success in retirement is behavioral coaching and planning. What investments are used and rates of return become very clear once your vision is defined. For us, retirement planning starts with what you actually want to do. Before we get into any numbers, we'll spend time talking about your life, not just your money. We'll ask about your goals: where you want to live, how you want to spend your time, and who you want to spend it with. Your answers to these questions are the foundation of your plan. The financial strategy we build is simply designed to make those things a reality
